Which paths are conducive to a true Peace?
In this beginning of XXIst century it seems undeniable that humanity
aspires to greater stability and cohesion between its populations. Globalism, universalism... modern theories and concepts abound in this respect.
What is rather missing is a reliable path, truly conducive to world peace. From now on, the transformation of this world into a peace haven, materially and
spiritually speaking, has become the unavoidable and salutary task of our
century. With respect to this challenge, several international associations relayed by messages of sympathy
from politicians from many countries have commited themselves to contribute to a broad information campaign aiming at citizens from all over the world.
The present mobilization under the title of "Campaign for Peace - I commit to learning the 7 Noa’hide laws" wants to promote the essential and fundamental values of life bequeathed by Noah
to humanity, but also to invite us all to respect them and apply them. Indeed, it is for the attainment of the supreme objective of keeping humanity on tracks
with the divine Project that the Hebrew Bible recommends and commends the acceptance of these 7 fundamental laws, and names them "the
7 Commandments of the Children of Noah". News agencies stemming from the four corners of the
world have already given an echo to these 7 laws which are addressed to all humans, and web sites in several languages have emerged.
Currently, several thousands of men and women from different origins and cultures already adhere to these universal laws and take
part in demonstrations for them. They are lead by an emblematic figure : the much acclaimed archaeologist Vendyl Jones, who has been operating in this field for several decades now and organized numerous conferences on this subject.
With full awareness to the fact that the world longs for truth and justice, so that it becomes a sure, stable and prosperous residence, the latter proclaim
that the 7 laws Noa’hides are :
- the eternal Charter of the Nations, the oldest Civil code of humanity
- a guide to arrive to world balance and universal peace.
It is not without reason that one of the great Masters
on the matter, Maïmonide, exposes these 7 laws for Humanity right before
the laws which deal with the arrival of the Messiah. In the same vein, the
Rabbi of Loubavitch, principal initiator of this campaign for the
recognition of these 7 laws, points out that this juxtaposition has a
meaning : "It is by making them known and by applying these laws that one will
bring back mankind on the way towards Humanity, and that will set up the
adequate environment for the introduction of the reign of the
Messiah".
In 1991, the American Congress opened the way by proclaiming Education Day. Within the framework of that law, passed
unanimously by the members of the Congress, they recognize the
historical transmission of the values and ethical principles which constitute
the basis of society since the craddle of civilization, when they are recognized
as such, i.e. as the 7 Noa’hides laws. With that intention, it is necessary for us
to be aware that among the preparatory steps for the advent of the
Messiah, one must incite the people to adhere, beyond any proselytism
and membership with any tendency whatsoever, to these morals as the sine qua non condition for the Final Deliverance.
After centuries of useless and sterile conflicts, humanity still wishes to attain
universal peace, and keeps a hope to see the fulfillment of
the verse of Isaïah (2-4), engraved on the frontispice of UNO: "the Nations
will forge plough shears from their swords and billhooks from their lances;
people will not fire any more the sword against another people, and one
will not learn any more the art of combat".
